Stem cells that produce decorin

Tech ID: T-019343

Using CRISPR-based gene editing, decorin was inserted downstream of Smad7 to create autoregulated stem cells that can produce decorin. As Smad7 is activated during TGF-beta signaling, the stems cells produce decorin in response to TGF-beta. Decorin is a key modulator of extracellular matrix assembly and has been shown to have anti-fibrotic properties.
