We have identified and characterized monoclonal antibodies that recognize secreted proteins of Enterococcus faecalis, and that neutralize the abilities of whole, viable, E. faecilis to stimulate a pro-inflammatory cytokine in cultured epithelial cells. The monoclonal antibodies are directed against secreted protien SalB and a yet to be identified protein.
