Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Roadmap Builder

Tech ID: T-010823

Background: The process is an innovative process that uses the paper Oncology protocols to create customized electronic Oncology treatment Roadmaps on demand. The new process completely changes the existing paradigm to create a fully electronic process that can be integrated into existing inpatient and outpatient processes and integrate into existing Electronic Medical Records (EMR’s) to provide a longitudinal record that can be easily accessed by clinicians within the Medical Center.

Technology Description: The Oncology Roadmap Builder has the ability to radically improve the management of Oncology treatments by using technology to replace paper records processes. Each patient typically has a unique Oncology treatment roadmap created for them from the paper oncology protocol which is cumbersome to track in a large diverse clinical setting. The electronic oncology roadmap provides an oncology treatment center with the ability to make the oncology roadmap records available to clinicians from virtually anywhere, any time to allow for emergent treatment in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. With the advent of the electronic Oncology Roadmap Application, this also provides any clinical treatment center the ability to interface the electronic oncology roadmaps into their Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) system to create process efficiencies and patient safety alerts. The same technology could be modified to create oncology roadmaps for adult and veterinarian medicine as well.
